Samaritas, a nonprofilt a social service agency that offers services throughout Michigan for adoptions, foster care, senior living, job training and refugees, raised $165,000 at its annual fundraiser Friday night at the Detroit Athletic Club.
The fundraiser included a silent auction and raffle for gifts from restaurants and jewelry stores. One raffle prize was a $10,000 diamond. The emcee was WXYZ's Alicia Smith.
Samartias also offers community services, prison-to-community reintegration for women and the state's largest homeless family shelter program.
