Joining an emerging movement at Starbucks stores around the country, workers at a Grand Rapids shop have voted to unionize.
The 15-3 vote Friday marks the first time a Starbucks store in Michigan has unionized, Crain's Detroit Business says.
The West Michigan workers voted in a count overseen by the National Labor Relations Board. Their employer has a week to challenge the results.
Employees at other Michigan coffeeshops are expected to follow.
