Additional security will be on hand at Detroit's Pershing High School through the remainder of the calendar year after a shooter fired approximately 13 rounds in a parking lot during football practice.
No one was hurt Tuesday, when several people including the gunman were arrested, the district tells Fox 2.
Teacher Christopher Kohler, who was outside at the time, called it traumatizing.
"I sympathize (and) empathize with any parent who has a child here at Pershing High School and they're afraid for their safety," said Christopher Kohler.
Other teachers asked for additional security beyond what the district is providing through December.
