A 13-year-old boy at Chatterton Middle School in Warren has been charged with a felony for threatening to kill a fellow student.
The suspect had a Zoom hearing before Macomb County Juvenile Court Referee Kristin Stone on Wednesday and was remanded to the Macomb County Youth Home until his next court date Feb. 21, the Macomb Daily reports.
Police executed a search warrant at the student's home and seized a 9 mm handgun and BB replica firearm, the publication reports.
The arrest came on the same day that Jennifer Crumbley was convicted of four counts of involuntary manslaughter for the murders committed by her son Ethan Crumbly in November 2021 at Oxford High School.
Police went to the school on Ryan Road on Tuesday to respond to a call about threats.
"The suspect allegedly had gotten into a fight with another student on Monday," Chief Jim Dwyer said, according to the Macomb Daily. "The next day, he sent threats to the student he had the altercation with the previous day."
